Product description

Originally designed in 1959 as a pendant, the Topan floor lamp brings a new perspective to one of Verner Panton’s most recognisable forms, transforming it into a sculptural, freestanding light that plays with transparency and levity.

Designed by

Verner Panton

Verner Panton was a pioneering Danish designer born in 1926, celebrated for his bold, futuristic approach to furniture and interior design. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he began his career working with Arne Jacobsen before establishing his own studio in the 1950s. Panton became internationally renowned for his innovative use of materials, particularly plastics, and his vibrant use of colour and geometric forms. His most iconic creations include the Panton Chair—the first single-form injection-moulded plastic chair—and immersive interiors like the Visiona exhibitions, which challenged traditional notions of space and function. His work, blending pop art sensibilities with functional design, had a lasting influence on 20th-century design and continues to inspire contemporary designers today.
